I make these rings from round sterling silver wire, once I've made the ring I take the tip through a patterned rolling mill to flatten it and give it the stripy pattern. This process gives it an organic, one of a kind look, no ring is exactly the same as the other one.
I then saw the ring open and polish the ends so they will go through your piercing smoothly. To finish I oxidize it, and polish it leaving some of the oxide on to enhance the pattern. The ring is only patterned on one side.
