I make these rings from round sterling silver wire. Once I've made the ring I take the tip through a patterned rolling mill several times to give it the teardrop shape. This process gives it an organic, one of a kind look, almost a perfect teardrop shape.
I then saw the ring open and polish the ends so they will go through your piercing smoothly. To finish I oxidize it, and polish it leaving some of the oxide on to enhance the pattern. It's only patterned on one side, the back is black (oxidized).
In the third picture you can see the different sizes, you can also see the variations in the teardrop shape, since the product is handmade no rings will look exactly the same but if you prefer it more or less pointy at the end leave a note in the comments and I will do my best!
The model in the last two pictures is wearing a 8mm in 16g (1.2mm).
