For these gauged earrings I start with making a hoop in 2.5mm (10g) copper wire, when I've soldered the hoop shut I put the tip through my patterned rolling mill, to flatten it and to give it a snakeskin like pattern. Afterwards I solder on little hoops to the earrings and open up them where it was soldered shut. I oxidize it in liver of sulphur and polish it a bit, then I put it in my tumbler because it gives the copper an amazing glow. While the earrings are rolling around there I wire wrap 10 turquoise beads in sterling silver, I oxidize them as well and give them a matte finish. Lastly I attach the turquoise beads to the copper hoops with small oxidized sterling silver hoops.
The hoops weigh approx. 14g each and has an outer diameter of 50mm, the turquoise in the middle measures approx. 30mm.
This listing is for a pair.
